Local Attractions

Whitsand Bay and its stunning coastline offers a Cliff top cafe, as well as ‘The View’ restaurant, 1 mile up the road, with Polhawn fort just along the coastline, popular  for weddings. Distance 1.2km.
Whitsand Bay holiday camp – The Fort-, has a swimming pool and bar open to the public.
Bake fishing lake for anglers just 15 minutes walk.
The old fishing villages of Kingsand/Cawsand are just over the hill within walking distance or a short drive.  There are quaint shops, post office and bakery, with  four pubs that have good food and beer and great views of Cawsand Bay.
The Cawsand to Plymouth passenger ferry runs in the summer, past Drakes Island and the Hoe, where and is a recommended 1/2 hour trip.
Just up the road is Maker Heights, an art centre and home to a fantastic restaurant The Canteen, serving fresh produce from the area.

Ferry over to Stonehouse

Go to the end of the road and get the Cremyll passenger ferry over to Stonehouse, with a short walk or bus ride into Plymouth City….with summer timetables in the Prince William Yard take the ferry to the Barbican, the oldest part of the city.

Mount Edgcumbe Country Park

Drive 3 miles to Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, with events happening all year round. Home to the Green Man Festival – May,Faery Festival – June, Classic car show – August, just to name a few. Segways and outdoor activities available. Weddings are held in Mount Edgcumbe House.

Village Of Millbrook & Coastal Paths

stay in the local, the village of Millbrook, 5 minutes walk from Manor Lodge, has all the facilities, as well as 3 pubs as well as an Indian Restaurant open until 10p.m. as well as a fish and chip shop. Walk around the lake, which is a mile and popular for dog walkers, very atrractive to bird watchers. Across the dam is Millbrook Football and Social club which is open to the public and holds a car boot sale every Sunday, weather permitting.

A gateway to the rest of Cornwall, with Lands End 1 1/2 hours drive. If you want to stay closer, how about Looe and Polperro, quaint fishing villages just 20 minutes drive. Great to stock up on your Cornish pasty and clotted cream!
